I’m GabRielle

It's so nice to virtually meet you. My name is Gabrielle, I'm a recent graduate from the VCU Advertising program.

Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved being creative in every avenue including video creation. In middle school, I was determined to become a famous YouTuber when I grew up (spoiler alert: that didn't happen). I remember posting singing videos every week of myself covering my favorite songs and uploading DIY tutorial videos every other week. My most proud grade school YouTube video (and the only one I never deleted) was a DIY Emoji Pillow tutorial. If you’re able to find it, I’ll be quite impressed.

In high school, I was introduced to the world of entrepreneurship, business, and marketing. In 2017, I sewed and sold hats all over DC and Virginia as a high schooler. That same year, I decided to design, make, and sell homecoming and prom dresses. Turning my creative passions into profit lit my soul on fire, so in college I started two more businesses. One was a virtual assistance business helping online business owners with their backend tasks and the other was a mindset coaching business in which I helped women skyrocket their self-confidence during the pandemic.

Throughout high school and college, psychology and mindset has been an interest and a passion to me. I find it fascinating how people think, believe, and perceive things. This is what interests me about approaching projects with a strategic mindset and allowing myself to learn as much as I can about the consumer.

After switching majors a couple times in college, I finally landed on advertising which has been the perfect blend of creativity and business.

I hope you enjoy exploring my portfolio and please, feel free to reach out to me 🤗

✺ Fun Facts About Me ✺

  • Two summers ago my mom and I decided to go skydiving together as a mother-daughter bonding activity.

Funny enough, when I had asked my friends to join as well, their response was “you go first… if you make it back I’ll go with you next time”.

    Gee thanks. Haha.

In the airplane going up, I wasn’t quite sure my harness was on right… but other than that, it wasn’t too terrifying!

My mom and I ended up having the absolute best time! I’m actually going again next month.

  • Music has always been an important part of my life. Everyone on my mom’s side of my family plays at least one instrument so I grew up learning to play the piano and violin. I also love playing covers on my ukulele while singing along.

My favorite part of any song is listening to the lyrics. With this, I try to write my own songs and lyrics whenever I feel an important or emotional push in my life. It is soothing and a wonderful way to be with my thoughts.

  • This past summer I studied abroad in London. I got the opportunity to meet so many incredible people from all over the world, including Mexico, Australia, England, and Thailand.

I became super close with the students from Mexico and they taught me some Spanish phrases. I told them that by the time we saw each other at our reunion, I would be conversational in Spanish.

  • I grew up being a very shy and unconfident individual.

When I got to my freshman year of college, I was still that way. Halfway through the year, I signed up for a 4-week mindset course and it instilled an incredible foundation of confidence, strong mindset, and awareness within myself. I was introduced to hypnosis, meditation, emotional intelligence, and shifting my limiting beliefs.

After that, I fell in love with personal development, self-growth, and bettering myself every day. I am always open to new books and podcasts!

  • I love learning and playing new sports! I played for a bit on the VCU Vendetta Ultimate Frisbee team and have met some of my best friends through that sport.

I also have been fortunate enough as to come across some spikeball players on my daily commute to classes. They let me join in on their games and taught me the rules to better my spikeball playing. This is definitely one of my favorites to play.
